… a refreshing place to stay whenever you are in Kathmandu. Our house is clean, with four western style bathrooms and hot water. We have a fully equipped share kitchen you are welcome to use, with clean, safe, drinking water supplied. There are two relaxing sitting rooms, a garden compound with lawn, and terrace garden area with outside dining, seating. Bedrooms have comfortable beds, soft towels, tables, and plenty of clothes storage. Many windows and balconies make for a light filled, welcoming home, and there are panoramic Himalayan views from the upper terrace and roof top. Free high speed wifi throughout the house.

Norwegian House was established in 2005 from The Norwegian School, we are one of the oldest guest houses in Lalitpur. We are very appreciative of this Norwegian heritage, and the many historic references we have in the guest house, and it is our desire to continue and grow this connection with the many Nordic friends, and of course to welcome, meet, and bless people from all over the world. It is our hope that you will enjoy your stay with us, and be comfortable in this lovely, freshly refurbished, house and garden, and in this beautiful nation of Nepal. Our large compound provides a tranquil retreat, yet we are centrally located for three of the major tourist destinations of Kathmandu, ancient Patan Durbar is only a pleasant walk away. We are conveniently located near the Jawalakhel chowk, close to many cafes and restaurants, shops and markets, as well as places of historic importance in Kathmandu. This is a safe, residential part of town. Please ask us for any additional information or help, and also for taxis, bus tickets, car/van hire, trekking, hiking, touring, local information and places to visit. Norwegian House has recently come under new management, and house manager, Pabitra speaks excellent English, and she and house keeper Urmila, will take care of you, Joseph and Urmila also provide live in security.
